4 months before the deadlines previewed on the contract, Granilouro finished the Gran Vía project in Madrid. Ready to open by Christmas 2018-19. Sidewalks in Grey Louro and Black Santiago, dimensions between 2.6 and 3.4 m, so the project got 6800 m2 for pedestrian use, with flower pots, parking entrances, and transition curved kerbstones on streets junctions.
In these 30 years we have paved the Gran Vía in Madrid twice. We also took care of the urban furniture, 143 benches, 110 of them in granite.
Exterior paving surrounding the unique buildings “Cuatro Torres Business Area” of Madrid, the four tallest skyscrapers in Spain: A set of shadows in three shades of granite (black, light grey and medium grey), broken by green areas (gardens) and graffiti (strips) made with three granite tones: Red, Green and yellow. The paving is placed on plots, except the zones of transport of emergency and other vehicles, which are solid. Access to garages has been coated with polished black granite.
Some benches (urban furniture) in grey and black granite have been placed as demarcation and protection to the area of construction.
Paving of the street with large size tiles and custom side trims.
All kinds of special pieces for pedestrian crossings and car entrances, kerbs with rounded edge, channels with concave shape, and gratings in solid granite were installed in this street. Big size solid benches were built in irregular shape to be adapted to the slope of the street. This is the street where the Book Fair is held every year in Madrid.
Mosaic paving made combining pieces of small dimensions in red, white and black granite. Areas for vehicles crossing were reinforced using even smaller pieces, to make the more resistant to breaking. This was done triangulating the square pieces into 4 parts, in order to keep the mosaic design.
